Meet the Model: Rachel

At AMaVo, we love to surround ourselves with fellow girls who have positivity, faith and fashion in common! Our models are no exception...and our brunette beauty, Rachel, is truly beautiful inside and out. You may recognize her from collections and campaigns on social media and online. She's got a bright future, and we think you'll be seeing more of her!
In our interview, Rachel tells us all about her personal style, dream dinner dates, favorite things and how "fashion gives us a really unique way to glorify God". Sit back, have a cold glass of lemonade, and get to know our model....

Q&A

Q: What three words sum up your personal style?

A: Daring - While I'm usually drawn towards dark/edgy, I still like to try out other styles as well.  Classy - I like pieces that are timeless and have a modest confidence about them. Bold - I always want my outfit to have a statement piece whether it be some studded boots, a fun printed pair of shorts, a chunky necklace, or maybe a leather jacket. I think every outfit needs something that stands out.

Q: What do you love about fashion?

A: To me, fashion is the best way to portray who I am, how others see me, and how I want others to see me. In many ways, we really are what we wear. Fashion gives us a really unique way to glorify God. 'How' you might be wondering? Because we can express the unexplainable joy and peace He gives us through what we wear!  Isn't that what it's all about after all? Expressing yourself in such a way that brings glory to the One who brings so much love and grace into our hearts that we can't help but get excited about opening our closets each morning! :)

Q: If you could have dinner with three people, living or dead, who would they be?

A: My Grandma Lillian- I never had the chance to meet her, although I am named after her. I've heard from everyone who knew her that she was the most light-hearted, loving, classy woman and could always be found giggling and dancing around the kitchen to old records as she cooked and cleaned. My Savior, Jesus Christ - I think it's unfathomable to understand what an honor it would be to meet the person I owe my whole life to; the one who picked me up and dusted me off and still continues to do so every time I fall short. To spend a day with the One who saved me and continues to shower me with His grace and love is truly unimaginable. Candace Cameron Bure - We all know Candace as 'DJ' from Full House, but behind the fortune and fame, she is an amazing example for Jesus Christ. I am amazed at her ability to still stick by her beliefs in such a cut-throat, temptation-filled industry. To just spend a little time with her would be a great experience I'm sure.

Q: What are your favorite summer activities?

A: I love to go knee-boarding with my family at the river, have bonfires with family and friends, and go on long walks at sunset with my dog. I like to just enjoy the summer days at home with my family and friends before they're all gone and it's off to the hustle of school again.

Q: What’s usually in your purse?

A: Chapstick ALWAYS and my favorite shade of lipstick/gloss at the moment.

Q: Have any hidden talents?

A: I paint occasionally. It's not much of a hidden talent, but more of a way I just personally express myself.  I also grew up in a very musical family so I sing, and I used to sing on our church's worship team in my hometown.

Q: What’s your dream job?

A: If I could be anything, I would be a makeup artist. I love making other women feel beautiful. One of the best feelings is when you hold that mirror up in front of them and there's that "AHA!" moment. Enhancing the beauty every woman has is always such fun.
