{Food & Drink} Customize Store-Bought Cupcakes

Brighten someone's day with the delightful surprise of a customized cupcake!

But some days you just don't have the time to bake cupcakes and decorate them. So we're shortening the process by eliminating that time-consuming baking part and skipping ahead to the fun - decorating.

For starters, select a simple but cute (and delicious!) set of cupcakes for your base. We purchased some delectable vanilla bean cupcakes to get things going.

Next, decide on your theme and decorations. Because our AMaVo weekly message is all about "Following Your Arrow", we chose to adorn our cupcakes with arrows. You can truly customize these store-bought cupcakes any way you wish! Brainstorm your favorite symbols, letters, colors, etc.

Want to recreate our look? Here's what we did:

1. Draw an arrow on a thick piece of paper and carefully cut out.

2. Gently press down the top of the frosting to create a flatter surface.  Place the arrow in the center. Double check the paper is securely situated on the frosting.

3. Dip the cupcake into a bowl of sprinkles, coating the top layer.

4. Gingerly peel off the piece of paper to reveal the shape.
